Matt Cashion to be inducted into the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame


The Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 class of six new inductees. These inductees will be honored at the 2023 Induction Banquet on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Health, Physical Education & Recreation Center on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.

Created in 2015, the Hall of Fame identifies and honors distinguished insurance industry professionals who exemplify innovation, social responsibility, leadership and professional excellence, who have made broadly encompassing and lasting contributions to advance the role of insurance in society and who have significantly impacted the lives of Arkansans.

The following individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame:

  • Matthew K. Cashion Jr., CIC, CRM – President of The Cashion Company

  • Ed Choate, CLU, ChFC, RHU – Retired President and CEO of Delta Dental of Arkansas

  • John E. “Jack” McNeil, Jr., CIC – President of McNeil Insurance Agency (posthumous)

  • Jeff Owyoung, CIC – Owner of Milner Owyoung Insurance Group, LLC

  • Alfred L. Williams,Risk Consultant, WCIA – Retired Senior Vice President of BXS Insurance

  • Frank Lynn Whitbeck – Founder and former President of American Foundation Life (posthumous)

The Hall of Fame seeks to remind Arkansans of the vital role the insurance industry plays in securing the well-being of individuals and businesses, to inspire the next generation of leadership to reach the high levels of achievement of inductees and to encourage young people to consider careers in the insurance agency.

UCA was chosen as the host and beneficiary of the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame due to its diligent work in creating and nurturing the state’s only program offering a major in insurance and risk management. Proceeds from the banquet will benefit a fund that provides financial support to students in this program.
